Introducing the Next Generation of Global Filmmakers

The Gold Rush Pictures Jury Award for Berlinale Talents - The Golden Eggs - sits at the heart of Gold Rush Pictures’ commitment to discovering and supporting the most exciting emerging voices in international cinema.

Created in partnership with Berlinale Talents, this initiative marks a landmark collaboration between the programme’s recently redeveloped Lab and an independent production company. As part of this multi-year partnership, Gold Rush Pictures will award up to three development grants totalling €15,000, alongside travel, accommodation and accreditation for the Cannes Film Festival, providing filmmakers with a meaningful platform to advance their work.

The awards are judged by a distinguished jury appointed by Gold Rush Pictures, including acclaimed British screenwriter and director Rebecca Lenkiewicz, Austrian-German filmmaker Feo Aladag, and renowned German director Tom Tykwer. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and a global perspective to identifying the most compelling projects within the cohort.

Drawn from the Berlinale Talents Lab, this year’s nominees represent a diverse and forward-thinking group of filmmakers at a pivotal stage in their careers. Selected for the strength of their ideas, originality of voice and ambition of their projects, they reflect the evolving landscape of global storytelling. Spanning genres, disciplines and cultures, their work signals both creative depth and strong potential for international impact.

More than a shortlist, these nominees represent the future of filmmaking - bold, distinctive voices ready to shape the next wave of cinema.
