The Road to Jericho: A Journey Through Memory, History and Peace

A deeply personal new documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Amos Gitai, The Road to Jericho revisits the legacy of Yitzhak Rabin through a reflective journey from Jerusalem to Jericho. Through landscape, memory and testimony, the film explores the enduring complexities of history and the fragile, often contested prospects of peace in the region.

Blending archival material, Rabin’s own words and present-day encounters with the Bedouin community of Khan al-Ahmar, Gitai creates a layered meditation on past and present. The film asks what remains of Rabin’s vision today, while examining themes of coexistence, displacement and political legacy. Premiering out of competition at the 2026 Venice Film Festival, The Road to Jericho offers a timely and thought-provoking perspective on the lasting impact of the Oslo peace process.
